Appeal for Information Following Vehicle Interference Incidents

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for information following a number of vehicle interference incidents that occurred overnight between Wednesday 19th August 2026 and Thursday 20th August 2026.

The incidents occurred on Meadow Way, Tadcaster. 

Officers conducting enquiries have identified that other vehicles in the vicinity may also have been targeted during the same time period. CCTV footage believed to show a person involved has been obtained and is currently being reviewed as part of ongoing enquiries.

We are asking anyone who was in the area during the relevant times, who may have witnessed suspicious activity, or who has CCTV, doorbell camera, or dashcam footage that could assist the investigation, to contact North Yorkshire Police.

Residents are also reminded to take simple steps to reduce the risk of vehicle crime, including ensuring vehicles are locked, removing valuables from sight, and reporting any suspicious behaviour around vehicles in their neighbourhood.

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police via 101 or through the North Yorkshire Police website, quoting the relevant crime reference number. If a crime is in progress, or there is an immediate threat to life or property, please call 999.
